Things You Don't See Everyday

Howdy people! Welcome to the Flight of the Tiger.

This page contains all unedited snapshots from my own camera ... featuring unique things, unforgettable moments and unusual scenes that don't happen everyday and in the same place ... and might just even happen once in a lifetime.

Thanks for dropping by.

THE ELUSIVE COLOURS OF HOPE

Picture taken on June 16, 2011 @ 5:55 pm .. in front of St. Joseph Cathedral. The rainbow is elusive because I tried to capture it @ 7:42am on my way to work (same day) ... it appeared near Butuan City Hall.

THE CRESCENT MOON & VENUS

Taken on May 16, 2010 along Langihan Road, Butuan City using my old Brica DV Cam... for more little details, you may visit The Bridge.

SUNSET BY MY SCREENED WINDOW

Taken on April 4, 2011 featuring the amazing colours of the setting sun.

THE SOLITARY RED

Taken on December 27, 2010 @ Bario Fiesta Resort .. featuring the red lonesome umbrella :)

SILHOUETTE OF A TRAVELLER

Photo taken on May 12, 2006 on board Our Lady of Carmel on my way to Cebu City for a Badyan Summer Spree

THE GRAND DISPLAY OF PRIDE

Taken at Eden Park, Davao City during PECIT's Summer Tour 2009... my first ever encounter with the proud peacock

CONTENTMENT OF AN ENCHANTED FELINE

Taken on March 27, 2011 at Enchanted River of SDS

EXOTIC SHADES OF BROWN

Taken on October 24, 2010 at Cagwait, Surigao del Sur... since the guy is named Troy, then the lizard must be Helen?

TWOSOMES
Three's a crowd while Honey & Eve's a company ... picture taken at the Waikiki Beach in the Philippines (Cagwait) on October 24, 2010

IF CLOUDS ARE COTTON CANDIES

Looks like an angel had flown out of the cottony puffs and left a trace of white flakes in the blue sky above the Chinese Cemetery last June 20, 2011.

THE GLARING EYES OF SUNSET.

A closer look at the sunset ... a clear beacon of hope for another tomorrow. The view is for free, or else, I couldn't afford it.

Captured using my GE X500 camera, at 15x optical zoom with Sunset Scene setting on Saturday, July 23 at 5:44pm.

THE SHY SUN

Another closer glimpse of the sunset by my bedroom window. Captured on the first of August.

The snapshots are nice examples of how God's creative power, shown through nature, and man's ingenuity, represented through the camera lenses, blends well -- beautifully.
THE DIVIDE

Notice how the electric wire seemed to divide night from day ... pretty unusual, isn't it?
THE BEAUTY BEHIND THE CACTUS

Even cactus can give us nice bloom too ... so can man ... even how bad man can be, but beneath that devilish exterior lies an untapped goodness as well.

Snapshot taken at home ... my first ever glimpse of the cactus bearing a lovely bloom as it climbs on the fire wall.

UNUSUAL SUMMER SUNSET

The lovely mix of sunset hues captured in this photo depicts the incomparable talent of the Master Artist.

Taken in Summer of 2012 by my bedroom window.

THE DANCING FLAMES

Taken during the blackout night of February 16, 2013. Using my GE X500 bridge camera set to night scene with zoom, the solitary candle flame seemed to depict a mysterious aura brought about by the darkness of the night, the power of digital technology and the slight shake of the hands as the lenses captured the scene.

THE DARING LITTLE TIGRESS

Featuring my little 2-years old niece daring a pause on top of our van. One cute and brave little tigress.
Taken on September 30, 2012. I can't believe I captured it nicely!

FISHY-FISHY AND A LITTLE FEET

Cute little feet wearing cute little slip-ons which made my grandma smile and think of the awesome talent of man to integrate the beauty of nature with the mundane things. In between is a fishy little flute with eyes used as lens for curious little toots.

Taken on October 27, 2012 with my oh so reliable GE camera.

INSY WINCY SPIDER

The green insy wincy spider crawling in banana leaf.

This green insy wincy spiders leaves in Tinuy-an Falls;

Insy winsy spider is a big momma.

A DOZEN + 1

Featuring Insy's eggs. The big reason why she won't leave the banana leaf.

A close up view of the thirteen cute little insy wincy spider eggs.

THE BLUE TAILED DAMSELFLIES

Damselfly in my hands, damselfly on the rocks and two damselflies together ... are just one of the amazing sights at Tinuy-an falls.

Hovering from one wet rocks to another, circling around you, these damselflies are like Tinkerbell casting her fairy dusts making your dreams come true.

According to wikepedia, damselflies (suborder Zygoptera) are insects in the order Odonata. Damselflies are similar to dragonflies, but the adults can be distinguished by the fact that the wings of most damselflies are held along, and parallel to, the body when at rest. Furthermore, the hindwing of the damselfly is essentially similar to the forewing, while the hindwing of the dragonfly broadens near the base. Damselflies are also usually smaller than dragonflies and weaker fliers in comparison, and their eyes are separated.

Captured using my GE X500 camera on my third trip at Tinuy-an Falls, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
THE TRAVELER AT PEACE

Featuring the blue slippers of a weary traveler taking a dip at the cool waters of Tinuy-an Falls.

THE ROCK

Is it a stone? A peeble? A boulder? Not sure. I'll just call it a rock carved into perfection by the gently touch of flowing water of Tinuy-an.

It's color and shape depicts the amazing genius of God and time.

 PREDATOR AND PREY

Captured at Sibadan Fish Cage of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur on February 18, 2013 ... the scene shows the predator-prey relationship ... a natural occurence in this evolving world.

THE LOVING MOM IN MY GRANDPA'S GRAVE

Captured at home with my GE camera durimg Tio Loloy's wake. The protective mother hen reminds me of how my great, great grandma used to skip her meals just to look for Tio Loloy and get him home so he could eat on time.

Now, I am sure, they are together again, in heaven, reunited in God's embrace.
THE ELUSIVE BIRDIE

Captured on camera at last! This elusive little bird can't seem to stop hovering from flower to flower.

Photo taken at home on January 5th during Tio Loloy's wake, several hours before his burial.

Like the little bird, my jolly Tio Loloy loves freedom.
